South Park (a television cartoon) and Parihaka (a Maori village in New Zealand) could be two sides of the same coin. Through cynicism and shock South Park encourages us to examine a world we may have chosen to ignore. Dating from the 1800’s, Parihaka, on the other hand, continues to support a tradition of change through optimism and peace. South Park and Parihaka represent two sides of the same coin. It is a coin of evolution that can be used to purchase a better world.
